BTU Calculator

BTU Calculator

We’ve made it nice and easy!  Don’t bother multiplying this number by that number to calculate the BTU heat output you require. All you need to do is fill in the fields opposite and our BTU Calculator will accurately calculate the BTU output requirement for your radiator or towel rail to heat your room effectively and efficiently.

When we know the BTU required to heat your room, we’ll select and suggest the best heating solutions for you. All you need to do is choose the one that you’re looking for.

If the calculated BTU figure is high, this indicates that it’s a large area you wish to heat and you’ll require more than one heat source. Divide the large BTU figure by the number of radiators you would like in your room and choose the multiple radiators to arrive at the perfect heating solution.

We’ve even made purchasing simple, click the ‘Where to buy’ button on the product page and a list of your nearest stockists will appear.

What does BTU mean?

British Thermal Units (BTU) is a unit of heat measurement. It defines the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. For example: 150 BTU’s is equal to the amount of energy used to raise the temperature of 150 pounds of water by 1-degree Fahrenheit

The higher the BTU number associated with a radiator or towel rail, the higher the heat output. It’s advisable to locate radiators near windows and doors, where heat loss is highest.
